The Smart Traffic System with Ambulance Detection addresses this issue by leveraging IoT technology to ensure uninterrupted passage for emergency vehicles.
The system employs an ESP8266 microcontroller and Arduino to manage traffic signals dynamically. Ambulance drivers are equipped with a mobile application that allows them to select a button corresponding to their approaching lane. Upon activation, the system overrides the current signal sequence, turning the designated lane's light green to provide an immediate right of way.
This solution eliminates delays caused by conventional traffic patterns, significantly reducing response times and improving emergency care outcomes. The project showcases a cost-effective and scalable approach to integrating smart technology into traffic management systems, prioritizing lives over traffic flow
